Unite Together for Education and Conservation in Orono, MN.
Unite for Earth Day is an annual Education and Conservation event to unite Girl Scouts & Boy Scouts (including Scouts BSA, Cub Scouts, Venturers, & Explorers) from the Orono, Westonka, and other surrounding areas (Minnesota) to work together in their community for Earth Day.
Our event is typically held at the Orono School's Nature Center and Learning Pavilion on a Monday after school into the evening. Participants arrive and leave based on their availability with school, clubs, sports, work, etc. Most people stay for about three hours.

Unite for Earth Day 2024
Unite for Earth Day 2024- Education
For 2024, we held in person Education stations with the theme of "Planet vs. Plastics" and focused on "Sustainability".
Besides the great Sustainability Patch Program and all the donated goodies from Cabot Creamery including cheese samples, we had other donations. All Seasons Wild Bird Store donated birdfeeders & birdseed. Friends of the Wayzata Library donated used books as a way to reuse rather than buying new. We had an enthusiastic electrical engineer from Xcel Energy facilitating our Reduce Station.
Our Daisy Girl Scouts worked on their "Make the World a Better Place" petal badge. Our Scouts BSA participants earned conservation hours.

Unite for Earth Day 2024- Conservation
Our In-person Session for 2024 was completing conservation cleanup projects. The theme was "Planet vs. Plastics" while cleaning up the Orono Nature Center.
Thank you to everyone who participated. We had people picking up trash, clearing debris from trails, clearing vines blocking trails, removing buckthorn, and more.
We appreciate all our volunteers plus the volunteer time and expertise from our Arborist with Rainbow Treecare who supported this event.
