Earn a Patch

During Unite for Earth Day, we try to facilitate earning patches and badges when possible.  This is while having fun with education and conservation activities.

We are providing information about the patches/badges we have offered at Unite for Earth Day.  Unfortunately, due to space restrictions on our free website, we have removed the detailed steps for earning the patches/badges and are referring you to the source information. Have fun.

This was part of Unite for Earth Day 2023 during our education portion of the event.

Anyone could work on this patch program.  It was a free patch from Cabot Creamery as part of their outreach to Scout and other groups.

Patches could be requested directly from Cabot at Gratitude Patch – Cabot Creamery (https://cabotcreamery.com/blogs/health-education/gratitude-patch).  But, it looks like the patch is currently not being offered anymore.  This may change in the future.

The Gratitude Patch from Cabot Creamery Co-Operative.

Cabot Creamery’s Gratitude Patch focuses on the importance of expressing gratitude in both what one says and through one’s actions.  The activities will help kids to focus on, and appreciate, the good things and special people in their lives.  Each objective will keep kids engaged while they earn their FREE patch.

1. What does gratitude mean?

2. What are you grateful for?

3. Express your gratitude.

4. Keep the gratitude going

Volunteering is a great way to teach gratitude. In general, people who volunteer are more compassionate and feel a sense of community.

NOTE: In order to remain true to the intent of earning the Gratitude Patch, there are easy activities you will need to complete.  We offered these at Unite for Earth Day 2023.

Girl Scouts will learn about a great woman’s impact on the world.  Girls will be guided through activities relevant to the notable woman’s story. Each patch ties into the Girl Scout program by showing girls what women of courage, confidence and character are able to accomplish.

Learn about Jane Goodall, the legendary scientist, conservationist, and humanitarian whose groundbreaking discoveries shaped our understanding of what it is to be human and about some of her many efforts to conserve the natural world.
